In the tranquility of touch and tactile experience, Marie Salcedo Horn sees an opportunity to question our relationship to the world. How did we construct it, with its norms and truths? She explores the entanglements of physical, social and cultural spaces and the feeling we experience in each. In her drawings as well as in the ceramic sculptures impressions of different spaces are processed. Often it is about an examination of questions about origin, belonging and identity. For this purpose, she creates ceramic objects that expand or change the body. A different perception of one’s own body in space becomes possible. She searches for the tension between things.
